Jay Roderick (to many JJ Roderick), grew up in Rockingham County, graduating from Broadway High School in 1999.  Jay joined the US Navy and was selected into the Nuclear Engineering Program; he graduated #2 in his class in 2001 and entered the Nuclear Naval Submarine Force where he served several critical missions including Operation Enduring Freedom, the War Against Terror post 9/11/01.  He served a decorated seven years, inclusive of being awarded Junior Sailor of the Year in 2003 and received his second Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal during his Honorable Medical Discharge in 2006.  As Jay is a disabled Veteran all Beards & Broads locations are registered as a Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses.

While operating his businesses all over the country, his personal favorite and first several locations are right here in the Shenandoah Valley.  He’s here monthly engaging with the community, relieving his leadership team for time off and spending time with family.

Jay graduated from Broadway High School in 1999 with honors, holds a BSE Nuclear Engineering from the US Navy, a BS Business Management from University of Phoenix and Post Grad in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.

Jay dedicates all of his business toward the community ensuring that HEROES are honored, respected and rewarded for thier service!  These HEROES include Military (active and veteran), Police, Fire, Rescue, Nurses & Teachers.
