What to Wear

THE BASICS

Closed Toed Shoes

Closed toe shoes are required by all axe throwers. This rule is in place for safety reasons as axes are heavy, sharp and can do a lot of damage if dropped on your feet or toes. You don’t have to wear boots but definitely be sure your toes are protected.

Comfortable Shirt

When you throw an axe you will need to lift both of your arms above you head. If you wear a shirt that is too tight or restrictive this could hinder your throwing ability. Your overall experience will be maximized if you wear a comfortable loose fitting shirts such as a simple T-shirt.

Pants or Shorts

The type of pants you wear really doesn’t matter too much considering axe throwing involves your upper body. Of course comfort is still key here so make sure you are comfortable throwing in whatever pants you decide to wear.

Pro Tips

COMFORT IS KEY

The theme here is to just make sure you are comfortable. Make sure whatever clothes you wear allow your arms full range of motion. When you choose your closed toe shoes make sure they are comfortable as well as you’ll be on your feet for a lot of your axe throwing experience.

FOR LADIES

A T-shirt or loose fitting blouse is the best option to allow the freedom of movement needed. You might also want to tie your hair back if it is long to prevent it from obstructing your view while throwing.

FLANNEL FOR THE WIN

Although some studies have shown flannel can increase your accuracy while axe throwing, it is not required to participate. Studies also show the best shirt to increase your chances of winning is a branded Beards & Broads throwing T!
